Moving to Windows 11 can be a smooth process… so long as you’re fully prepared

 

Windows 11 is finally here. It looks great, it’s safer, and is set to help businesses be a lot more productive.

There is however a “but”. As the biggest Windows update since 2015, there’s some prep work your business needs to do. The upgrade process isn’t simply clicking a button. 

There are system requirements that all your devices need to meet; recovery drives that need to be created, and backups to check.

If any of your PCs or laptops don’t meet the strict hardware requirements – maybe they don’t have enough free memory, or your processors just aren’t fast enough – then you’ll need to budget for and order new devices.

When Windows 10 was released many businesses did not take the time to prepare for the update. They thought it was simply a case of clicking a button and

waiting for the computer to restart. However, things didn’t always go to plan. Data was lost, and people couldn’t get used to the new way of using the operating system.

Because they hadn’t taken the time to do things properly, they couldn’t recover lost data. They couldn’t revert to the older version of the operating system. And they had to plough money into new equipment because their devices just couldn’t cope with Windows 10.
